If you want to use seamoss for medicinal purposes, especially if you are trying to heal from a chronic disease, then purple is more suited for you. It does however have a slightly stronger smell and taste than the gold seamoss. Purple seamoss contains Flavonoids, this is a compound found naturally in red, purple and blue fruits and vegetables. Anthocyanins are a type of flavonoids; rich in antioxidant and can help your body ward off toxins and potentially decrease your risk of some chronic health conditions, cardiovascular disease and even regulate the cellular activity, fight off free radicals that cause oxidative stress on your body and dismiss inflammatory reactions.
